Thieves Pass
The route could be shortened with a start from Nethy Bridge. Dorback Burn can be dangerous to ford after heavy rain. Apart from the section through Thieves Pass the tracks are all good on a gravel bike.
Start: Burnfield Avenue, PH26 3HH
Parking: Burnfield Avenue, PH26 3HH (EV charger and accessible toilets)
Accessibility issues: Locked gate and narrow bypass at 2.4km, Narrow track at 2.5km near Smokehouse, lots of gates (many with poor hinges and latches) on Speyside Way. Thieves Pass narrow with some hike-a-bike

Route description
Generally good surfaces,
- 0km SE down Burnfield Avenue and follow Speyside Way route towards Nethy Bridge
- 5.4km Exit old railway line via signed path on left and turn left onto farm track
- 5.7km Right onto B970
- 6.4km Left onto forestry track
- 8.8km Right then left on forestry tracks, stay on main track to road
- 10.9km Left on unclassified road
- 12.7km Right on unclassified road towards Dorback
- 16.0km Right on track at Ballintuim
- 17.2km Ford Dorback Burn and continue on track
- 18.3km Gorge narrows and some hike-a-bike depending on bike and skill….
- 20.3km Ford small burn and keep right on track
- 23.5km Right on track
- 25.3km Left at T junction
- 28.2km Right at fork in track, continue into Nethy Bridge as track changes to road
- 31.4km At B970 in Nethy Bridge EITHER right and immediately left to return via the Speyside Way OR right and return to Grantown by road
- 41.4km Burnfield Avenue
