Tomintoul
A nice ride on mainly good tracks though Burn of Brown might be difficult to ford after heavy rain. Alternative starts would be from Nethy Bridge or old Dorback Lodge.

Parking: Burnfield Avenue, PH26 3HH (EV charger and accessible toilets)
Accessibility issues: Locked gate and narrow bypass at 2.4km, Narrow track at 2.5km near Smokehouse, lots of gates (many with poor hinges and latches) on Speyside Way. Ford (x2) at Burn of Brown

Route description
- 0km SE down Burnfield Avenue and follow Speyside Way route towards Nethy Bridge
- 5.4km Exit old railway line via signed path on left and turn left onto farm track
- 5.7km Right onto B970
- 6.4km Left onto forestry track
- 8.8km Right then left on forestry tracks, stay on main track to road
- 10.9km Left on unclassified road
- 12.7km Right on unclassified road towards Dorback
- 17.3km At end of road take left fork through gate behind old Dorback Lodge
- 18.1km Exit trees through gate and rejoin main track heading NE
- 21.6km Ford Burn of Brown and head downstream on sketchy track to end of wood
- 22.9km Right through gate up steep bank to join good track and continue to A939
- 26.5km Right on A939 to Tomintoul
- 29.7km Turn back in Tomintoul
- 30.7km Right on track heading NW
- 31.0km Keep left on track
- 31.7km Single track through fields and between fences
- 32.4m Right on unclassified road
- 32.6km Left through parking area, and across old bridge to rejoin A939
- 32.7km At A939 right and immediately left to retrace tracks to old Dorback Lodge
- 46.2km Left on unclassified road to Nethy Bridge
- 51.8km At B970 in Nethy Bridge EITHER left and immediately right to return via the Speyside Way OR right on B970 and return to Grantown by road
